Funnily enough, my ceramics comes from a mistake: Experienced potters know the importance of checking the thickness of the glaze, and in most cases start with glazing the inside of the pot first, not the outside. Well, I was not one of those experienced potters, when I foolishly started glazing my own works for the first time, without asking for advice. The results were far from what I’ve expected. The glaze was not thick enough for some, resulting in some ‘naked’ pots, and others were marked by drips, as I poured out the excess glaze from the inside after already glazing the outside. What I loved about the results is that they re- minded me of raw walls with graffiti drips. From that little blunder it was just one step further to buy spray paint and cover my vases in vivid colors.
