Terms and conditions for artists

When you sign up as an artist or submit a poster at Kræss x Purpleposter you agree to all terms and conditions.

Purpleposter is part of Kræss. Purpleposter takes care of printing and selling posters. Purpleposter and Kræss must be treated as the same entity.

General conditions:

  • The artists takes full responsibility that his/her artworks does not violate any rights (copyright etc.) and is made by him/her. Any legal lawsuits concerning an artwork is the responsibility of the artist and not Purpleposter.
  • Purpleposter has the right to sell your artwork to any customer in any country through Kræss Physical Store), Kraess.dk, Kraess.dk/purpleposter, Purpleposter.com, Kraess.store and any future Stores and Webshops owned by Purpleposter/Kræss.
  • The artist receive a commission of 30% of the sales price excluding any taxes and VAT for every sale.
  • The artist decide the price of the artworks excluding tax and VAT with guidance from Purpleposter.
  • Purpleposter can discount the any poster for sale in a limited time period. The artist commission will be deducted before the discount and the artist will get paid the same as if the poster was sold at the regular price.
  • If a similar artwork by the artist is sold in any other store at a lower price, we reserve the rights to lower the price to the same level.
  • The terms and conditions for artists may be subject to change. Artists will be informed of any changes within the sales system or by email.

Taxes and VAT affects the sales price according to buyers location:

  • Taxes and VAT will be included in the sale price of your artworks according to customer shipping address relative to Purpleposters company address and production facility which is based in Denmark, Europe (EU).
  • Prices are displayed including taxes and VAT on the customer shopping page and in our physical store.
  • All taxes and VAT is handled by Purpleposter and is not a part of the artists commission (is not split), and artist commission will be deducted excluding any taxes and VAT.

Earning and payout:

  • The commission is calculated in the beginning of the month for all sales that are more than 40 days old (or older) and has not yet been paid (or returned by the customer).
  • The commission is transferred to the artist bank account after a few banking days. It normally takes 0-2 days to process the withdrawal and possible longer for international transfers. Any transfer fee in connection with the artist bank account will be deducted from the artist commission.
  • The artist must have a receivable commission of at least DKK 100 before a payment withdrawal can be processed (to avoid any relatively large fees in relation to the amount received). If an artist has a receivable commission of less than DKK 100 on the day when the commissions is to be calculated, it will be calculated and paid out on the next commission payment date if the artist’s receivable at that time is DKK 100 or more.
  • The commission will be paid in the local currency of the artist bank location if possible, otherwise it will be paid in EURO or USD. We convert the commission from DKK (or whatever currency used in the webshop) to the local currency using Google Currency Converter on the day of the withdrawal.
  • The withdrawal is accompanied with a withdrawal invoice with a full list of his/her orders and commission (earnings) for the artist to use in her/his accounting. The withdrawal invoice can be downloaded in the store-manager at any time.
  • The invoice does not include any taxes or VAT.
  • It is the responsibility of the artist to account his/her commission correctly according to his/her country tax laws. Purpleposter cannot be held responsibility for any poorly bookkeeping or fraud by the artist.
  • Danish artists must submit their CPR number (person number) in the Sales System. This is required in order for Purpleposter to pay their earnings. If danish artists does not submit their CPR number the artist earning cannot be paid. If the artist earnings has been paid to the artist without the artist submitting her/his CPR number it is the responsibility of the artist to take responsibility of any legal actions against Purpleposter from the authorities (SKAT etc.).
  • If the artist is selling their artworks in Kræss on behalf of a company and/or the artist earnings are paid/sent to a company , the artist must submit the company VAT number (CVR number in Denmark) in the Sales System. This is required in order for Purpleposter to pay their earnings. If this is not submitted, the artist earning cannot be paid. If the artist earnings has been paid to the artist without the artist submitting the VAT number, it is the responsibility of the artist to take responsibility of any legal actions against Purpleposter from the authorities (SKAT etc.).
  • It is the responsibility of the artist to submit his/her bank account information in the store-manager in order to complete the withdrawal.
  • If your bank is not located in Denmark we will transfer as an “international payment” via IBAN or SWIFT. Your bank could charge a fee for receiving international payments (typical 10€). If you set up a Revolut bank account you will avoid fees as we use Revolut to send money. It is your responsibility to have an accessible bank account to which we can send your earnings.
  • Purpleposter has a 30 day return policy in which the customer can return his/her purchase and the artist commission will be rolled back before it was set to be paid.
  • During Christmas Purpleposter has a longer return policy and we will not be processing payments in january due to extended holiday returns. All orders from the 22nd of October until the 22nd of December is calculated in the beginning of February.

Other conditions:

  • Purpleposter can denounce the collaboration with the artist and stop selling his/her posters at any time with immediate effect.
  • The artist can denounce the collaboration by informing Purpleposter through email and Purpleposter will stop selling his/her posters within 30 days from the notice.
  • Purpleposter may update these terms and conditions at any time upon which the artist will get notified by email. If the artist do not agree to the updated terms and conditions they are free to denounce the collaboration with the Purpleposter.
  • Purpleposter reserves the right to change name and webshop at any time.
  • Purpleposter is a part of Kræss and should be considered as one.
  • Purpleposter can use the artist submitted artwork in any promotion (etc. online advertisement and magazines).
  • Purpleposter can not be held responsible for any error/flaws in the print, price, title, description, copyright issues or marketing material regarding the artwork submitted by the artist.
  • Artists who sell their works on behalf of a company (often their own private company) can enter their company details (company name and VAT number) in the Sales System. The payout of earnings will be paid to the bank account of the artist’s choice (personal or company account). It is the artist’s own responsibility to book the earnings in accordance with the debts law in relation to if the payment should be made to the company. The artist’s business information is not visible to customers.

Conditions when submitting an artwork:

  • Your artwork submission needs to be approved by Purpleposter before we print, sell and promote it.
  • Your submission can be rejected for a number of reasons: etc. quality, motif and copyrights.
  • Your poster may only be approved and printed for some of your desired poster sizes because of the file quality etc.
  • Purpleposter might edit your submitted file slightly upon submission. Etc. the aspect ratio, margins or color profile would need to be adjusted on a submitted artwork for it be printed in a good quality.
  • Purpleposter do not own the rights to the artist’s original work or the submitted .PDF file. But Purpleposter own the rights to the “print-file” they create upon printing the artwork with their printers.
