From the collection, Daughters of the sun, about learning to notice and appreciate all of the wonders around us, and never forgetting to show our gratitude for the things that mean something to us. The prints in this collection have been photographed and edited so they resemble the original oil paintings as much as possible. The original paintings are all highly textured to give the illusion that they have been painted directly on a rock or a weathered wall, which comes through clearly and beautifully in the prints.
Julie Celina is an artist working from her home on the quaint and beautiful island, of Fanø, on the Danish west coast, where she primarily makes highly-textured oil paintings. Julie Celina’s work is about connection, about connecting deeper to yourself, your own authentic truth, and connecting deeper to the natural world. Each painting is thoughtfully crafted in collaboration with nature to offer grounding and presence to its audience. Julie Celina’s work serves as a reminder to slow down, breathe, and listen.
